Unfortunately, some 4-6 chickens were killed and left in the woods next the park access road. They were discovered today when my dog was straining on his lead to investigate this rather grim discovery. I suspect an inadequate enclosure somewhere, allowing racoons, martin, or maybe loose dogs to grab these, but not sure why they would all be dragged to the same general area near the road (I would hate to think a person did this). They were spread out on the ground all within 200 meters of each other, just east of the acess road. If you live in the area adjacent to the park and kept chickens (possibly Thomson Place, Cathedral Place, or maybe Echo Place), these could be your birds. Each bird also had a black zip-tie on it's leg. Here is a good website for further information on proper pen enclosures: http://www.scoopfromthecoop.com/chicken-predators-what-you-need-to-know/ Thanks
