I have four hens and a coop that I would like to find a new home for. They have been excellent backyard chickens, but sadly I will be relocating and need to find a new home for them. These chickens are far more like pets that farming/livestock. The hens include one 3.5 year old Barred Rock chicken (looks like salt and pepper covered). She is very friendly and was my favourite from the original flock that joined my family. The other three are 1.5 year old Columbia Rock chickens (white with black tails and a delicate black ruffle around their necks) who are super friendly. There are days I get 3 eggs, and others where I get 6 or more (today I have collected 5 eggs so far). All birds are very healthy and happy, and have always managed well with cats and dogs around. The chickens live in a 4' x 8' coop that has an upper level house built in with a laying box and a ramp. The coop is 3.5 years old and may need a little tlc but is in good shape. The coop is very high tech in that it is powered with lights and outlets and I currently have a heat lamp for colder nights. It is also built up on garden ties with gravel to keep the floor of the coop off the ground and prevents vermin from getting in. The pen was designed by Canterbury Coops (you can find them on Facebook with images of their coops). I have a considerable amount of feed and chicken scratch, bird gravel and oyster shell to support their diets. I often give them yogurt or other sources of calcium to ensure the eggs they lay have hard shells. I currently have a larger enclosure that they chickens get to roam in during the day (the enclosure is not included). At night I always close them into their coop. On weekends when I'm home they get to roam the full garden and always stay close. I am more interested in finding the right home for the girls than first come first served, so if interested, please let me know why you would be interested and what kind of set-up/yard you would have for them.
