$200 · 75" Samsung Smart LED TV (problem listed below)

This TV is just over 5 years old. It was $4000 new from McKay's. It had worked flawlessly until the 5 year warranty was up then a small shadow appeared half way across the top of the TV. It wasn't really noticeable at first, it just looked the weather was getting bad off in the distance when I was watching golf. Slowly the strip got wider until the whole top was affected. I contacted a repair place downtown and they knew what it was (top row of LED'S) and quoted me $500 for the repair. We decided against the repair but we don't want to trash the TV all together. We thought maybe a gamer would like the set and might get used to the shadow on top like we did.
