If your looking for an affordable boat that has everything you need for cruising, in a modest package, Curlew needs your consideration. The Bruce King designed Ericson 29 has a solid reputation combining safety and performance. The upgrades done make the boat bigger, faster and safer. The diesel engine has 29 HP and she will cruse at 5.5 kts with a top speed of 6.3kts. Adding 2 feet to her length the design of the swim grid allows easy water access for rescue, swimming, dingy, paddle board or Kayak. It also is hinged and folds flat to transom when at dock, for winter it detaches easily. With the BBQ off the stern it is also best accessed from the grid freeing up precious cockpit space. The efficient 100 watt solar system and battery bank keeps the fridge going while on anchor or dock without the need of auxiliary power, we have done so for up to 6 days and can see no reason why you couldn’t go for longer. The cockpit enclosure keeps the bugs, rain, wind and sun out when you need it and stows away when you don’t. When the back stay was replaced the rigger commented on the rest of the rigging - that it was not original and looked in good shape. Sail inventory also includes a spinnaker, and head sail both older but in excellent condition.
