The biggest perk we offer is getting to be a part of every major event that comes to town. This past month we did catering for Santana, Imagine Dragons, and ZZ Top, with many more exciting things planned for the summer and beyond! We are currently looking for a part time Buffet Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be organized, calm, resourceful, have a positive attitude, and will be reporting to the Executive Chef. They will also receive nightly tips and a family style dinner with every shift. Have we got your attention yet? Good! Now let's get into the details: A Day in the Life: - Assisting in the prep and cooking of buffet items - Working prep days and assisting in all aspects of production. - Working the carving station including the organizing of the setup - Working alongside the Executive Chef on event days and maintaining the - On event days you would be working alongside the chef to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize the dining experience. - Understanding the cook times for a variety of meals and ensuring all items are cooked for specific service times. - Making sauces, baking, and breaking down different types of meat. - Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Executive Chef You Own this if You Have: - A valid Food Safe Certification - A strong work ethic - Excellent verbal communication & customer service skills - A friendly and professional manner - Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend More About Us: GSL Group is headquartered in Vancouver, B.C. with offices and operations also located in Victoria and Kelowna.
