Crust Bakery (downtown Victoria on Fort Street) is looking for a full-time pastry chef or experienced baker to join our fabulous team. Crust Bakery is one of Canada's finest upmarket, boutique bakeries which creates all of its products from scratch every day, seven days a week. We bake delicious artisan breads (including sourdoughs, tradition poolish breads, authentic ciabatta, quinoa and spinach bread, light and dark ryes and much more!). Also, we use lots of fresh, seasonal produce to create delicious tarts, sweets, pastries, savoury treats, cookies and more!! Our business's success is due to the passionate people in our team, and we strive to look after our staff by fostering and developing their careers through training, and regular staff evaluations. We pay above standard industry rates, and are flexible with days off, holidays etc. To be a successful applicant for this job, you must: - have cooking qualifications or baking experience/ training - have an up-to-date food safe certificate - be available to work full time - be willing /able to begin your shift early (often between 4.00am - 5.30am) - be able to take instructions, and communicate clearly - have the ability to work well as part of a team and/or confidently work alone - show initiative, be career driven and be enthusiastic - be passionate about quality food References are important to us, so please include a minimum of two.
