I purchased this machine last year from Reel to Reel tech in Vancouver BC after it was fully restored and calibrated and have had zero issues recording on it since! I am only selling due to moving to a smaller space and no longer having room to house it. I can also include the reel of ATR master tape & takeup reel pictured above. Open to trades depending on the item, message for more info! Below is the original listings text relating to the servicing and restoration of the machine: "While this one did power up, and the transport did function, the audio chain left a lot to be desired. Mandatory on these decks is that all 32 play/record relays are changed out, as the originals go intermittent. There's two relays per card, and we replace them with Omron hermetically sealed relays, that will last the life of the deck. Upon replacement, most channels came back to life in both play and sync mode, however a couple of channels still didn't pass audio properly. One card had a bad feed-through solder joint on the dbx board, the other one had a bad capacitor in the output circuit. A third channel had a dead VU meter, and that was also due to a bad capacitor. We also replaced all 16 VU meters with new bulbs, as a couple were burned out. Once audio passed on all 16 channels, we found that the levels were all over the map on record and playback, so we used a new MRL calibration tape to set the deck to +3db for ATR Mastertape, and calibrated all channels to be as flat as possible. The Tascam gives a nice 3db bump around 50Hz, for that 'phat' tape sound, and each channel is flat to 20Khz. This is a single speed deck, 15 IPS, NAB eq curve. This deck has the rare original Tascam low impedance XLR input and output adapter box hanging off the back, although it can be removed, and the stock RCA ins and outs can be used instead if you prefer. We've put about 20 hours of run time on the deck, in play and record mode, and with and without dbx noise reduction. The deck is ready to go! Cosmetically, the deck is in better shape than average, with a couple of very minor flaws.. the trim ring is missing for the master dbx 'on/off' switch, however the switch works fine. One of the plastic mounts for the low impedance adapter unit is also missing, however it hangs on the back of the deck just fine with three of the four mounts."
