Beautiful hand crafted didgeridoo made of Myrtle wood by artist Chad Butler from Oregon. https://bhumsiva.com/galery?gallery=581 Copied from this website: This is an extremely rare type of wood for me to get a chance to work with. Myrtle is very hard, and absolutely gorgeous. It appears to have a Dragon spirit, or something mystical. It's my daughter's stroke of genius that the 'eyes' were left glossy. She begged me, and then she did the taping. It's our first collaborative didge. The begging was important, but I'll give her experience creds for the tape work. I know that beautiful didges sell, and that people think curly shapes and huge bells are exciting, but I've tried to consistently show shapes that work and build beauty through knowing eyes as a way of developing a higher taste amongst my customers . Curly shapes like this often won't sit straight. Nico totally surprised me by playing it upside down in the demo video. It obviously worked that way for him. With this didge I laid some aspects of practicality aside in trade for the artistic offering. It plays better seated than standing because of the crookedy neck. Beauty wins, and I still worked the mouthpiece to accommodate comfortable approach (sitting, or with the bell elevated on a stable surface). And oh ya... I should mention that even though I've bad mouthed the crazy shape whilst praising it's beauty, there's the playing aspect that's as luxurious as it's appearance. It's very alive for such a dense wood. Powerful. Balanced. Smooth. Excellent vocals. Very rich tone. Comfortable for soft play as well as rawkus rowdy. It's got the goods.
