What is Speed Watch? Speed Watch is a community based program to help raise public awareness of speeding in school zones, playgrounds and other problem speeding areas and encourage slowing down for the safety of our community. It is sponsored by the Shawnigan Lake RCMP, ICBC, and SCCPAS. Trained volunteers, are deployed in pairs with the Community Policing vehicle, using Radar and an electronic display reader board. Help reduce speeding in your community! Become a Speed Watch volunteer. Requirements: - Obtain a Criminal Records Check (Police Information Check) - Attend 2 hour initial training session. - Conduct 2 Speed Watch Deployments per month (2 hours each), or more if you like. - Attend monthly general meetings. - Be passionate about community and road safety.
