Our van is much loved. We call her Joy as that is what we get when we drive her and go on van adventures. We purchased her in August, 2020. The 1971 camping features included a sink and an ice box. The bench seat in the back makes into a bed and the roof pops for a youth bed. We have the child’s cot/bed that goes over the front seats. We traveled this summer with our 2 dogs and our granddaughter. Through BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. This will be the last trip we can fit all of in so are selling the van as we have outgrown the space. The previous owner purchased this van in April of 2020 with the current rebuilt engine having less than 1000 miles on it. Yes the odometer and speedometer read miles per hour. They had intended it as a project. We have since had work done for: safety, reliability and then luxury. We do not know exactly what the mileage in on the van as it is an odometer that keeps track VW style - it’s wrapped around. The gas gauge works as well as the extra gauges (oil temps turn, cylinder head temperature , RPM) and electricity. Since purchasing her in August 2020 she has been repaired by Beetle Auto Service Ltd in Victoria. There have been many repairs done as well as regular oil changes and tune ups.
