Position hiring: Kitchen Manager Hours: Full time; Tuesday through Saturday 7:30am – 3:30pm Salary: $26 - $29 /hour plus tips Benefits: Extended Health and Dental available Who are we? The Dutch Bakery and Diner has been around Victoria, BC for nearly 70 years! Our grandfather immigrated to Canada and opened our bakery in 1956. Now owned by the third generation, we've continued operating in the same location, with the same family recipes! Our bakery is a staple in downtown Victoria and we are looking for a motivated individual to join our team! Who we need: We are looking for motivated and creative individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, fun, professional environment to lead our diner team through the execution of our diner menu in accordance with our service standards. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned line cook professional who is ready to step into a leadership role. You will be leading our diner kitchen team with support from our line cook to maintain an organized and highly functional workspace. Your core responsibilities will include: - Leading kitchen operations during high-volume service periods with a focus on product quality and consistency. - Perform a wide range of duties to ensure the production of all diner menu items. This could include but is not limited to: kitchen set up, grill/griddle management, operating the deep fryers, assembling plates, and cleaning. - Upholding and enhancing standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation. - Managing labour, scheduling, and kitchen resources to optimize efficiency. - Mentoring and developing a team of passionate, career-driven cooks. The Ingredients You Bring to the Table: - Strong verbal communication skills - Strong line execution skills and the ability to lead by example - The ability to work independently, as well as in a group - The ability to work on your feet for extended periods - The ability to work in a clean, organized manner - The ability to lift up to 50lbs - A commitment to upholding company policies, compliance and quality standards - A commitment to punctuality and reliability, reporting to work on time as scheduled - A willingness to learn and grow - Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is considered an asset How to apply: Interested applicants are asked to come by in-person with a resume.
