JOB DESCRIPTION Position Description – Part-Time Assistant Custodian Relationships - Responsible and reports to the Head Custodian and Property Coordinator DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. The basic function of the Custodian is to maintain the church interior, furniture and equipment in a clean and tidy condition. Covered walkways leading into the church are also to be maintained. Maintain security during quiet hours and provide assistance to those using church facilities when required. 2. The Custodian is responsible for and shall: a) Lock and unlock premises (doors and windows) and corner parking lot as required. b) Refer to the daily log book that contains the shift requirements. c) Cleaning and maintaining the various rooms of the church. d) Replacing washroom supply and light bulbs. e) Provide assistance in arranging furniture and equipment in all rooms prior to scheduled functions, and (as required) for unscheduled functions. f) Communicate as necessary with groups using the church building, especially during evening hours when church office staff is not available to interact with groups, to ensure security is maintained when church is vacated. Conditions of Employment include: a) Probationary and permanent employment as determined by Church Board b) A minimum of 4 to 8 hours weekly.
