A beautifully restrained example of Finn Juhl’s sculptural modernism, this 1960s FD535 side table was designed by Juhl and produced by France & Son, Denmark. Elegant, architectural, and quietly expressive, it captures everything that makes Juhl’s furniture so enduring and collectible. Crafted in solid teak, the table features Juhl’s signature softened geometry. The gently chamfered tabletop appears to float above the frame, while the subtly tapering legs and curved apron create a sense of movement from every angle. The proportions are deliberate and refined, equally suited as a side table, occasional table, or companion piece beside a lounge chair. This example has been freshly restored, carefully respecting the original form and finish. The teak has been cleaned, revived, and polished to reveal a rich, even tone with beautifully expressive grain. Importantly, the original chalk markings and date stamp remain intact, including the model designation, offering rare and desirable confirmation of authenticity and period production. Produced during France & Son’s most celebrated years, the FD535 represents the height of Danish cabinetmaking paired with one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. Honest materials, sculptural restraint, and human scale all come together in a piece that feels as relevant today as it did over sixty years ago. Offered in excellent restored condition, this is a highly collectible Finn Juhl table with exceptional provenance and integrity. A refined and timeless addition to any serious Danish modern interior. 23.5” wide, 16.75” deep, 15.5” high We’re now pleased to offer free delivery to most locations across Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
