$4,000 · Energetic, well built and social Arab gelding

Cricket is a 9 year old, 15hh registered Arabian gelding. He has excellent conformation, is very smart and loves learning new things. He is currently being worked 3 days a week with a professional trainer, being brought back into work after most of the winter off. He is an incredible trail horse when being worked consistently; has lots of energy and will go all day without slowing. During the summer when he was getting worked everyday he really thrived, would happily jump over anything on the trail, go through water, play at the beach, and trudge over bridges. I took him camping multiple times and did lots of backcountry riding, which he really excelled at, and he happily goes out alone or with others. Cricket came to me green broke and was not given adequate training to develop a work ethic when he was young. He is an Arab, so he is high energy and highly sensitive, and when not getting worked consistently, he becomes nervous and reactive. He has come a long way with me, however when I couldn’t work him enough in the winter he became too much horse for me and I no longer have the confidence necessary to ride him. With his trainer he is currently learning how to remain calm and stay focused on learning, as he can be reactive to discipline and resistant to boundaries. Cricket goes english, western and bareback. He goes best bitless, and he can wear a bit, but due to his initial training he is very sensitive to it. He loves doing liberty, and knows a few tricks as well (smile and fistbump). I did take him to his first ever show in the fall, and he handled it very well considering his lack of experience. He is a very easy keeper, and currently living in a herd setting on grass with my senior boy. He has excellent feet; has never been shod, and has front boots for rocky trails. He is up to date on wormer, vaccinations and teeth. Cricket is very special and loves people, he will make the right person a very good horse. He needs a confident rider who has experience with sensitive horses and/or Arabians, and would be best suited to a trail riding/backcountry home, where he is getting worked consistently.
