$17 · WANTED: Lead Barn Worker

I'm in need of a responsible, reliable, experienced, fit and kind barn worker for a small private barn in West Saanich with 7 horses (easy going western type guys). I need a "lead barn staff" person, I'd say barn manager but my place is too small for that title... A person who is comfortable and competent working on own. Currently, I've got some great weekend and bit of mid-week shift help, but I need someone to take over a lot of what I do now as I've got a serious family health situation and my time is very limited. Work consists of feeding, turnout (which is super easy), cleaning stalls/ paddocks, waters, prepping feed/hay for pm, maybe brushing horses, holding horses for trims/vet, ordering hay, picking up feed, organizing barn work schedule, must be able to drive a gator. The barn is compact and well set up in a very quiet and private spot. Would be mostly AM work and maybe couple PMs so cover any not filled, I do late night. AMs take approx. 3.5 hours with longer hours if wanted helping with turnout and yard upkeep (weed eating, lawn cutting, blowing driveway, branch trimming, clearing branches / burning). Not on bus route so need own car. $17/ hour to start and will increase for the right person. Last, I need this level of help for 6 months to a year so I'm looking for a longer term commitment at this time. West Saanich, Victoria.
