Randstad is looking for a Senior Accountant for a Corporate Firm in Victoria. Do you have extensive accounting experience? Are you ambitious, with great interpersonal skills? Job Title: Senior Accountant Job Type: Permanent, full time Hours: Monday - Friday Salary: $58000 +, depending on the experience Start Date: As soon as possible You have: * University degree in accounting or completion of at least the 3rd level of a recognized professional accounting designation * 3+ years' experience in a full cycle accounting role * Experience with accounting software (Epicor preferred) * Excellent attention to detail and a strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue % completion accounting, A/R and general ledger account structure * Ability to research GAAP and tax laws * Good interpersonal, communication and time management skills Responsibilities: * Prepare adjusting, reversing and accrual journal entries on a monthly basis * Conduct monthly analysis, investigation and explanation of revenue variance from forecasts. * Assist management with financial analysis * Perform various cash management tasks * Prepare month-end account reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations. Prepare monthly recurring entries and other journal entries * Participate in year-end audit process; provide information for external auditors, and prepare reports. * Carry out foreign exchange balance monitoring, check account profile report and post correcting journal entries. * Prepare and file government remittances including GST, HST, PST, and US Sales Taxes * Assist with all aspects of accounts receivable * Organize and submit purchase orders and accounts payable invoices * Liaise with Customer Support Assistants to clarify any differences and reconcile conflicts that arise with customer payments.
