Residential Youth Support Worker

IDM Youth Services Inc. (IDMYS) strives to provide safe and stable homes for at risk youth while offering all inclusive care. We were established in 2010 with the opening of one residential location and three persons served, and today, we operate ten residential locations and upwards of twenty at risk youth. We are looking for dedicated, supportive, and compassionate people to join our dynamic and growing team of individuals who are committed to providing all inclusive care to at risk youth. About the Job: This position is a live-in position, with a structure of 24 hour or 16 hour shifts that are sleeping shifts, meaning that you go to bed when the youth go to bed. We also have 8-hour shifts that do not include sleeping hours. You provide all inclusive care to at-risk youth by: - Providing an environment that is safe, comfortable, and homelike. - Attending to the daily functioning of the home, such as: cooking, cleaning, laundry, and driving. - Supporting the person served in attending appointments and/or school, day programs, work, etc. - Providing emotional and behavioural support when needed. - Encouraging positive community involvement when applicable. - Supporting the positive connections with family and friends when applicable. - Communicating with external stakeholders as needed. Required Qualifications - Current First Aid (or willing to obtain) - Current Food Safe (or willing to obtain) - Class 5 Driver's License - Clean Criminal Record Check (completed with the agency.) - Clearance through the Ministry Screening (completed with the agency.) - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (or willing to obtain - IDMYS provides internal training as well). - TB Test We have Full Time and Part Time positions available!
