Better Choice Staffing is currently recruiting for Paralegals or Legal Assistants to assist one of our Victoria based clients for a short term vacation coverage contract. Candidate must have experience in the below areas. Assets · 5-10 years of experience (or more) working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a law firm · Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and formatting legal court documents · Solid knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules & Applications Records · Federal Court knowledge is an asset, and/or the ability to know where to look in the Rules for information · Confidentiality is crucial · excellent typing skills Duties · type a lengthy Memorandum of Fact and Law (Federal Court) which will become part of an Application Record which will need to be filed in Vancouver and served here in Victoria · assembly of a Book of Authorities (need previous experience doing so)
