Here's the opportunity...with BGC South Vancouver Island. Working on a youth support team, you will provide supervision and support to 2 youth who live in a residential setting. Partly an awake shift and partly an asleep shift, you will work the night coverage between Sunday night and Thursday morning. Your pay? $170 per shift. Your team includes experienced youth workers, so you will have experienced support if you need it while on shift. Your key role is to be there with the youth to provide support that is normalizing, respectful and individualized in a home-like setting. The youth are dealing with symptoms of substance use withdrawal and need your caring supervision and attention. During your awake part of the shift, you will keep the youth company, perform daily light housekeeping duties, prepare meals/snacks, handle some administration, and use your analytical skills to monitor and mitigate potential maintenance or risk situations. During your asleep shift, you will be ...asleep! And, you will be available to support the awake shift staff, if needed on occasion. Sounds intriguing, right?
