I bought this extremely powerful router to broadcast a strong signal so that I could access it whilst in the pastures of a farm. It worked like a darn charm. In relocating from the farm to the Island, I transported the router in a sturdy, dry, protective box (pictured). One thing I neglected to do: wrap it in bubble wrap to protect from chaffing. So when I looked at the top of the router (aesthetics are important to many, I know), I was horrified to see some chaff marks. Using the google masheen, I check out Wikihow on how to remove scratches. Instead of using toothpaste to polish, I break out the Professional Polishing Kit! (pictured) I start to buff and it works beautifully. It gave a lustrous shine but started to remove the silver gray finish and reveal the black background. This wasn't so much a case of staying in one spot too long, but rather the factory finish coming off where it was thinner. Devastated. So I stopped immediately, gave her a gentle cloth buff and took some photos. Outside of the brain art to not wrap it in bubble warp for the journey, this router has been babied really. Protected in a non smoking home, it has sat pride of place next to an iMac and largely untouched. Why sell? I have no need for such a powerful router anymore, I am doing just fine with the stock Shaw model that I have to have, sitting here. It too is protected. Everything works as new, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 , terrific broadcast signal, incredibly easy to set up with its software and access from wherever you want to. Outside of those well intentioned buffing attempts this morning (I could keep going to give it a shiny new black colour, but I am afraid to remove the NETGEAR log) its a perfectly brilliant router. Original power supply, and manual (wrapped in plastic!) supplied. And one day when I move back to a farm, you know what I am getting for the broadcast signal strength again. - AC1900 600+1300 Mbps WiFi Speed.
