This is a fantastic, one-owner example of one of the most important and iconic acoustic guitars ever produced. Powerful, dry, throaty, fast -- It has it all. Vintage, J-45s are among the most sought-after and collectible acoustic guitars on the market, for good reason! And the lighter built, scallop-braced pre 1955 models are the ones to have. Completely original in all the ways that matter. The tuners were replaced with period-correct aged Kluson reproductions that required no modifications or new screw holes to install. Originals are included. The frets and bone nut are new. There are a couple of repaired cracks on the back of the guitar but the sides and top are crack free. The neck is straight and true and the truss-rod is active and functions as it should. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge are in perfect condition. These guitars were originally sold with a cardboard, faux alligator skin case but they were available with a Lifton hard-shell case as an upgrade. This one has the original Lifton, which is a significant bonus to the buyer -- these cases sell for upwards of 1000 on their own. This one has seen some loving decoration by its previous owner that only adds to the overall mojo. The finish is completely original and, blessedly, it has retained its red hue. It has "the look" that I personally want to see in a good vintage J-45. Check out the demo video to get a sense of the superb tone of this instrument. It has everything that you could ask for from this classic Gibson model, needs absolutely nothing, and is ready to bring joy to its new owner. Perhaps the most consistently dependable guitars on the market in terms of their rising value, this issue-free example is not only a stellar playing instrument suitable for the most serious tone hound, in either a stage or studio setting, but it is an excellent investment as well. Tone and playability just don't get much better than this! Please check out the video below to get a sense of what this guitar can do. https://vimeo.com/345989643
