Customer Service Technical Support

Owen Business Systems is seeking a Technical Customer Service Representative to work in our Victoria, and Nanaimo BC offices. We are seeking a self-driven, technically-minded candidate with exceptional customer service skills, who is able to help our customers with their technical issue, perform training on our applications and perform basic hardware installations on site. You will also put your project management skills to work as you work with our team to complete installations and onsite repairs in a timely and thorough fashion. Attention to details is a must. Responsibilities *Answering customer inquiries via telephone and email *Performing in depth technical investigations, and well-documented escalations where needed. *Travel to sites both local and remote to aid in installations and technical support *Deliver effective training on technical and general processes and systems. *Provide classroom style training of business applications to users *Communicate effectively within our Customer Support team and with the client *Switching seamlessly between technical and general customer support roles *Oncall in a support role on a once per month, weekly rotation. Qualifications *1-2 years' experience supporting customers in a technical environment *Ability to troubleshoot technical issues thoroughly and resourcefully *Strong communication skills -- the ability to move between technical and customer-speak is essential for this position *Ability to understand business processes *Proven ability to manage concurrent priorities effectively *Ability to learn quickly and thrive in an active, ever-changing environment *Solid understanding of PCs, Networking, use of Internet, and MS Office. *Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems *Proven track record of customer service excellence *Valid BC Driver's License *Ability and willingness to travel up to 4 days per month overnight to different locations *Ability to work independently and unsupervised to complete projects on time.
