$15 · Camosun Student Work Study (must be a Camosun student)

Dates: August 26 2019 - April 9, 2020 (with a layoff over Christmas) Hours: Flexible 15 hr per week Wage: $15 per hour (under review) Location: Both Camosun College campuses Position Summary: The MyWellness ambassador for the Camosun College Student Society is responsible for running wellness campaigns, hosting workshops and tabling events, and providing outreach to students on both campuses about mental health. This position will be under the guidance and direct supervision of the CCSS Benefits Administrator. The successful candidate will also promote and provide information and resources to students about MyWellness, which is the mental health and wellness program which compliments the student benefit plan. This is an exciting opportunity to create a more interactive environment for students to engage in healthy discussions regarding mental health while reducing some of the stigma that students may experience in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. If you are an outgoing and approachable person who enjoys providing information to people about serious topics in fun and creative ways, this may be the job for you. Duties and Responsibilities: * Host events and workshops at both campuses * Demonstrate the ability to plan and organize tasks within a deadline * Ability to work independently * Must be outgoing and comfortable talking in front of a large groups of students * Collaborate with the CCSS Wellness and Access Director on campaigns and events * Responsible for planning and hosting a variety of events on each campus each month * Liaise and collaborate with other college partners (CAL student, Rec and Athletics, Healthy Together) * Explore possibilities of working with other on and off campus organizations to further promote health and well-being of Camosun students * Facilitate and/or participate in presentations, awareness weeks, displays and other programs to promote healthy lifestyles, overall well-being. This includes but is not limited to CamFest, Clubs week, DeStress Fest, and Bell Let's Talk Day. This position is only open to a student currently enrolled at Camosun. Closing Date: August 7, 2019.
