Gabriel Ross Inc. is a specialty furniture, home accessories and lighting store in Victoria's Rock Bay District. Featuring many of the world's most internationally recognized names in mid-century and contemporary design, the company maintains a significant e-commerce presence in the both Canada and the US, as well as attracting discerning customers to its newly renovated 6,000 sq-ft showroom.
The company is currently looking for an experienced accountant/bookkeeper to cover a 1-year maternity leave. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and email management skills, a solid understanding of accounting concepts as well as experience with multi-currency, and be able to prioritize and complete time-sensitive tasks with little to no supervision. The regular duties of this job include payroll, accounts payable, reconciling accounts, intercompany transactions, government remittances, preparing financial statements, and liaison with the management team in order to provide explanation and insight into financial results.

Hourly wage to commensurate with knowledge and experience. This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. There is potential for the position to extend to a permanent career for the right person in some capacity; this depends largely on expected growth over the coming year.
