Awake Overnight - Residential Youth Care

IDM Youth Services Inc. (IDMYS) strives to provide safe and stable homes for at risk youth while offering all inclusive care. We were established in 2010 with the opening of one residential location and three persons served, and today, we operate ten residential locations, house upwards of twenty at risk youth, and have a diverse team of Youth Care Support workers employed. We are looking for dedicated, supportive, and compassionate people to join our dynamic and growing team who are committed to providing all inclusive care to at risk youth. We are looking for people who are interested in working in an Awake Overnight capacity! About the Job: The Awake Overnight position is an hourly position during the evening/early morning hours of the day, typically 12:00AM-8:00AM. You will be responsible for the person served with overnight, checking in on them, offering emotional and behavioural support as needed, basic cleaning, and some administrative work. Duties include: Providing a safe, comfortable, and home-like environment. Supporting the person served emotionally and behaviourally as needed throughout the night. Routinely checking in on the person served. Daily logging Other administrative work as needed. Basic cleaning of the home. Additional tasks as needed. Current Openings: Position 1: Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat 11:59PM-7:59AM Position 2: Fri/Sat 11:59PM-7:59AM Required Qualifications: Current First Aid (or willing to obtain) Current Food Safe (or willing to obtain) Class 5 Driver's License Clean Criminal Record Check (completed with the agency.) Clearance through the Ministry Screening (completed with the agency.) Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (or willing to obtain - IDMYS provides internal training as well). TB Test Preferred Experience: Experience working with at-risk youth and/or people who have experienced trauma and exhibit extreme behaviour, and have mental health diagnosis, etc. Experience administering and documenting daily medications. Experience working with suicide prevention and self-harm behaviour Completed, or are in the process of completing, a degree or diploma in a related field (education, psychology, child and youth care, counselling).
