Well, time to bust out the old chestnut: here is a Holy Grail! But all joking aside, this amp is a legend. There are many great versions of the AC30, but the "Super Twin," with the trapezoid head, is widely considered to be the ultimate iteration. There is truly nothing like the EL-84 treble harmonics produced by a real-deal JMI top boost. This particular amp has been used in a local studio for the past number of years. It has been scrupulously maintained. It has also graced the stage of Rifflandia, and has been used as backline for Tom Cochrane and others. Cosmetically the head is in very fine condition. The grill cloth has been replaced. Internally, the head retains its original output transformer and choke. The power transformer is a correct Heyboer replacement. The cabinet is in particularly fine shape and, most importantly, includes its two original Vox blue speakers, with their original cones. These speakers are quite simply about as good as it gets. It is rare to find these original closed-back cabinets in such excellent condition. Considered together, this is a truly special package. The replaced power transformer, while it does nothing to hinder tone, does bring the amp down from the stratosphere of collector's grade and into a price range that is more reasonable. A remarkable amp suitable for studio and stage.
