The Maritime Museum of BC is currently seeking Visitor Service Volunteers to assist us with our Front Desk operations. This is a service-oriented position that gives volunteers the opportunity to interact with visitors from around the world and to share BC's maritime history and culture. Duties include welcoming visitors into the Museum; processing admissions and memberships; making Gift Shop sales; and promoting and selling tickets for our special events, workshops, and tours. Special benefits for regular volunteers include: -Complimentary annual individual membership to the Maritime Museum of BC. -10% off in the Museum Gift Shop -Volunteers are invited to participate in selected programs related training along side the summer students. We are currently looking for volunteers to cover the Front Desk on: *Sunday afternoons (1:30 PM- 5 PM) *Monday mornings (10 AM - 1:30PM) and afternoons (1:30 PM - 5 PM) *Wednesday mornings (10 AM - 1:30 PM) *Thursday afternoons (1:30 PM - 5 PM) *Friday mornings (10 AM - 1:30PM) and afternoons (1:30 PM - 5 PM) *Saturday afternoons (1:30 PM - 5 PM) Shifts are weekly or bi-weekly, and training is provided.
