Shelter: BC SPCA - Victoria Animal ID: 480278 Birthdate: July 30, 2018 - Young Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Say Hello to Sailor! Sailor had a rough start to life and is looking for a patient guardian that has the time to commit to helping this special cat adapt to being a house kitty! Sailor loves other cats and would do well in a home with a social outgoing cat to help show him the ropes! This sweet fellow would prefer an adult only home with little foot traffic as he adapts to his new settings. Due to spending his entire life as an indoor only cat, and his fear of the unknown, Sailor must remain an indoor only cat. His foster mom had this to add: "He is so incredibly playful and energetic. He loves the toy with the string and the stick and he never gets tired of it! He'll play forever. He is walking around the house and loves exploring, but often puts himself in situations when he realizes too late that he's uncomfortable. Like running into the bedroom and realizing we're on the bed- then hurrying away. He lets us hand feed him occasionally, but we have yet to pet or touch him. I think he's doing well- but needs more time. That being said- sailer loves structure and seems to benefit from having people who are very attentive and give him lots of play time. I think he's well on his way! If a potential adopter wanted to help socialize him, i think he would do well in a forever home- but only for someone who is willing to work with him to help him get used to people. " Our staff are happy to explain how to properly socialize a cat like Sailor, If you would like to know more about Sailor or find out how to submit an application for him, please contact us at victoria@spca.bc.ca or via phone at 250 388 7722. NOTE: Sailor is in foster, thus he is not viewable in shelter.
