The Solstice ST is for the paddler who wants a North American style kayak in a highly efficient package. This sleek hull design cuts through the water like a warm knife through butter. Plenty of foot room and the easy entry cockpit allows small to average sized paddlers to slip in comfortably while still staying true to it's sporty fit. The Solstice ST has excellent acceleration, is highly efficient, and can hold plenty of gear in it's ample storage hatches. Great for water big and small, and trips long and short. This older ocean kayak was handmade on Vancouver Island by Current Designs. It is in good condition due to the very high quality of workmanship in its initial construction. There are cosmetic scratches on the hull and a sacrificial fiberglass strip added to the stern keel. The rudder lines, deck lines, hatch seals, bulkheads, etc. are all in good condition. This boat is very sea worthy with enough capacity for 2 week long trips. It’ has explored northern and southern Gulf Islands and various west coast destinations like Hot SpringsCove and beyond, the Broken Group, the Bunsby Islands, Nooka Island and Southern Alaska. Because of its very good initial stability and low profile, it handles rough seas even when empty and so is also a great day tripper. The Solstice ST has been called classy and beautiful, but perhaps ‘exhilerating' describes it best when it comes alive on open water. It comes with a neoprene spray skirt, hatch cover, paddle, paddle float, bilge pump, poggies, sponge, gear bag, etc. Specs: Length 17’7”, Width 24”, Depth 14”, Weight 52 lb, Cockpit 16” x 29” New models of boat alone sell for close to $5000
