The body for the featured car was originally a Berline Sedan built by Willoughby on a long version of the chassis with a wheelbase of 153 inches; however, the car as shown in this model is equipped with a recreated dual cowl Phaeton body done in the style of LaGrande. The model had a straight eight-cylinder engine that could produce 265 horsepower. It had a three-speed transmission and was capable of 115 miles per hour. Given its steep price amid the peak of the Great Depression, Duesenberg's clients were mainly m-o-v-i-e stars like Mae West and Gary Copper and business tycoons like Phillip Wrigley and Howard Hughes.
