Atlas 618 lathe, from the 1950s. Great condition ! This year uses actual bearings for the headstock vs the earlier models that use babit bearings. Overall the lathe is in amazing condition, head stock is tight, ways are smooth (1 little ding right up by the chuck) with very little wear, I suspect in the 10th. The carriage and cross slide are smooth and lead screw is in great condition too. All the dial markings are as clear as new and the change gears in amazing condition. Comes with 99.9% of all the accessories a new one would have almost 75 years ago ! 3 jaw , 4 jaw, face plate, chuck jaw (kind of the same idea of the modern collec chucks) steady rest, live center, dead center, drill chuck, original tool holder , quick change with 3 tool holders , change gears . Even a print of the original manual ! The motor has been update at some point , and between the pully system and the variable speed controller , the RPM range adjustment is virtually infinite! An AMAZING little lathe for the hobbiest or model maker! In full transparency the half nut for the carriage is the ORIGINAL zimak one and is very worn, but again 70 years old! And one of the change gears has been lost , I believe the 20 tooth. Both of these can be found on online. The half nut is a brass replacement for just over 100. BUT both the change gears and half nut can be 3d printed using Nylon and work amazingly well! Only selling as i find a lot of my projects these days are bigger than this little lathe can handle, and unfortunately i only have so much space and barely have enough room as is! Any questions feel free to ask, and I will reply as soon as I can.
