Our rapidly growing company is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper with experience in the construction industry! This position will be an integral part of our busy finance department. Responsibilities for Senior Bookkeeper: • Input all sub-contractor’s invoices on a bi-weekly basis to coincide with payroll • Input all payable invoices, reconciling to monthly statements • Prepare all sales invoices, including Contract billings and intercompany invoicing • Accounts Receivable – Monitor customer accounts receivables for non-payment or delayed payments – follow up on all outstanding accounts. • Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances • Perform monthly & quarterly balance sheets, income statements and any changes in financial position/budget variance analyses and cash flow forecasts • Preparation and submissions of government and regulatory filings including: – Weekly payroll source deductions – Monthly GST remittances – Monthly PST remittances – Monthly Corp tax remittances • Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations & prepare general journal entries • Submit company benefit and RRSP plans remittances on a bi-weekly basis • Respond to general accounting and financial inquiries from the management group and senior accountant by gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing data, making recommendations, and posting the appropriate accounting entries • Maintain up-to-date job knowledge by keeping current with financial and tax regulations and accepted accounting practices • Perform all necessary account, bank, and other reconciliations Qualifications: • Five years’ experience in accounting procedures and principles, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll in construction related work. • Strong people skills to interact positively and productively with senior accountant and management group. • Experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliation. • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (word / excel) and accounting software, experience in Sage 100 Contractor / Simply Accounting software an asset. • Experience in a Construction related industry an asset. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 - $70,000 annually, based on experience.
