Finance Account Manager

Erb Technical Contracting Ltd. is a locally owned mechanical contractor in Saanichton, serving clients throughout the Greater Victoria area. We have the ability to professionally complete small to large scale bondable projects on a timely basis with the utmost commitment to quality, safety, and customer service. We are currently hiring a Finance Account Manager. This position will be instrumental in maintaining financial records, ensuring accuracy, and streamlining our financial processes. Benefits: ● Comprehensive extended health benefits after a 3-month probationary period. ● Life insurance. ● RRSP matching $3000/year after 6-month probationary period. ● Free Parking. ● 3 weeks vacation and stat days paid out each pay cheque (10% added each pay period) Job Requirements: ● A minimum of 3 years of similar professional experience. ● Post-secondary education and/or accounting qualifications. ● Proficient with accounting software (Xero) ● Previous weekly payroll experience (Payworks) ● Strong abilities in prioritizing and managing time effectively. ● Strong literacy skills and meticulous proofreading abilities. ● Dependable team player with a proactive attitude to anticipate company requirements. ● Access to reliable transportation to the office is required as public transit options are limited. ● Prior office experience within a construction company is an asset. Accounting Duties: ● Invoicing: progress draws, time/materials, smaller projects. ● Match packing slips to invoices for accuracy. ● Enter and pay suppliers. ● Complete purchase orders and verify supplier invoices. ● Process weekly payroll using Telpay for direct deposit. ● Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all four companies. ● Generate monthly/quarterly job costing reports. ● Prepare in-house financial statements. ● Ensure timely payment of payroll deductions, GST, Health tax, WCB, and corporate tax. ● Submit T5018 Summary of Sub-contractors Payments annually. ● Process monthly union remittance. ● Manage fiscal yearend for all four companies, coordinate with the accountant for finalizing statements. ● Submit bonding reports semi-annually or as requested. ● Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Project Costing & Assistant Security Officer Duties: ● Extend estimating sheets and input totals on job costing sheets. ● Handle purchase orders or contracts with subtrades and suppliers upon project acquisition. ● Review contracts and project tenders. ● Submit personnel screening forms for Government approval. ● Manage approved personnel forms for government projects in government facilities. ● Ensure employee security forms are up to date. ● Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
