Avalanche for Sale Reluctantly selling my much-beloved Avalanche. Put a newer motor in about 8 years ago. Has the fairly typical Chev tappet/lifter tick for a few moments upon cold-start. I never hesitate to jump in this truck and do a road trip. All the comfort and solidity of a Suburban, with the versatility of a pickup truck. What separates the Avalanche from any other truck on the road, is the amazing mid-gate design. It allows you to carry 8’ sheet good fully-protected from the elements. The configurations: Everything closed up; a generously comfortable crew-cab. Glass out only. I often carry sticks of lumber this way, resting long pieces as far in as the dash. 20’ pieces. Midgate lowered, glass in. 8’ 2” cargo bay, with tailgate closed. 12’ legally, with gate down. Both glass and midgate lowered, fully open box/bed, for bulky items. Lots of tie down on the bed sides, plus cargo light. Tonneau covers support 200 pounds each. 60/40 rear split. Sunroof/moonroof Leather interior Multi-way adjustable, memory seats Cruise control Full A/C Rear defrost Power windows Power, remote door looks Heated mirrors Centre, lockable console On-Star, not sure if service is still available though Lockable ‘saddle-bag’ storage on each side of the bed Media head unit. Not quite right in the head though. A bit erratic functionally. Haven’t had the energy to pop it open, and look for a cold-solder joint. Technically plays any format I’ve tried, including .FLAC from discs (DVD/CD), USB, SD. Also Bluetooth music and telephone. Soundstream make. 5.3l Vortec gas engine. New front struts 2 weeks ago Almost new rubber this September New brake pads this past Sprint Bit of cancer on driver’s side rear wheel well (I’m told wouldn’t be too hard, a little bondo project. I’m too ill to do it myself. Rest of body is rust-free. I have upgraded bulbs and headlights, again; too sick to have installed them. I have owned this for more than a decade, and am pretty-sad to see it leave, but I want my spare vehicle to be a bit better for our 3 elderly dogs to get in and out of… Thanks for reading!
