Under the direction of the Equipment Supervisor: DUTIES: - Maintaining and servicing a variety of equipment including but not limited to: food service equipment, HVAC, shop/power/hand tools, wheelchairs, strollers, greenhouses, freezers, coolers, and the carousel. - Assisting staff within the department with other related tasks. - Respond to emergency calls throughout The Gardens - Carrying out these duties within tight timelines and often under pressure to minimize disruption to visitors. - Maintaining rodent control traps. REQUIREMENTS: - Excellent mechanical aptitude - Experience using tools and equipment generally found in a shop environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - The ability to prioritize work - Analytical and problem solving capabilities - Ability to work outside in all weather conditions - The ability to work independently - Valid B.C. Driver’s license - Training courses/trade school courses in a related trade would be an asset - Comfortable working at heights - Level C gas certificate would be an asset - Must provide one’s own hand tools - Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook + Excel - Working knowledge of WHMIS and WorkSafe BC regulations.
