Learn to sew a custom designed kitchen apron at The Makehouse. This workshop is a great way to expand and practice your basic sewing skills! You'll begin by planning your design and cutting out your fabrics. We will then show you how to construct your apron using the sewing machine and pressing techniques. In this workshop you will learn: How to chose fabrics that work together How to sew curves How to create neat corners How to create binding How to top-stitch How to make a custom apron Skill requirements: Basic sewing machine skills required. Material requirements: You will need to bring 1-1.5 meters of cotton depending on the size of apron you wish to make. Fabric purchased At The Makehouse will be discounted by 20%. Equipment requirements: Please note that we provide a sewing machine for you to use in the studio, but you are more than welcome to bring your machine from home. If you'd like to bring your home machine, please remember to bring the manual (and foot pedal/power cord) and arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
