There are decent Pathfinders, there are nice Pathfinders, and there are nicer Pathfinders. I would like to think ours falls into the latter category. After twenty years, it is still an absolute pleasure to drive, and everything works the way it should. Was dealer-service until 2016, so everything that needed to be done was done, and done on time. It runs and shifts smoothly and effortlessly with no strange noises, no shakes, rattles, or rolls, and no weird warning lights lighting up the dashboard. 4x4 transfer case works smoothly in 2wd, 4 hi and 4 low. Report Card: Mechanical - absolutely a 9.5/10 - no surprises, no issues, no worries. tires, brakes, exhaust all recent and all good. Motor purrs! Just spent $1200 on maintenance Interior - 10/10 - virtually like new - no smokers, no pets, no kids, no rips, stains or tears. Body - 8.5/10 - it's original paint, very straight and shiny with no accidents. There is a small amount of rust at the bottom of the rear left wheel well which hasn't become any worse, (not really visible) and there is a paint blemish, about the size of a tennis ball on the rear right (see pics). Other than that, no scratches, no dents, and it looks like an obviously well cared-for vehicle. The kms., as mentioned, are just above 300k, which works out to just over 15,000k per year, yet the Pathfinder is remarkably free of wear and tear. With the stellar reputation these 3.5 litre engines have, it should be good for at least 100,000-150,000 more kms. As it stands, I wouldn't hesitate to do a cross-country road trip in it.
