$1,200 · Paul Reed Smith S2 Mira - USA-Made PRS, Similar to Gibson SG

This guitar is fantastic! It's thin, light, plays easily and balances well. Made in Stevensville, Maryland, USA in 2013. The Mira is Paul Reed Smith's answer to the Gibson SG. It has all of the usual benefits, plus improvements, like locking tuners, more sturdy neck, harder to break headstock, straight string throw at the nut and better balance (no neck dive!). It's also 25" instead of 24.75", which improves tuning stability. (<- although hotly debated!) I'd keep it, but am not serious/skilled enough for the prestige of an American guitar. There are a number of cosmetic digs, but nothing serious. The neck and frets are in excellent condition. Bridge pickup upgraded to DiMarzio AT-1 (Andy Timmons signature, think warm and smoothe for blues or classic rock). Weighs 6.68 lb. Its all-mahogany body and asymmetrical, beveled top give the S2 Mira much of its explosive tone. And while not a super high output guitar, the S2 Mira can be overdriven into well-rounded, organic rock tones without sacrificing the punch or clarity found in higher-output guitars (or even active pickups). The bridge pickup is rich with some sparkle and substantial but tight low end, while the neck pickup is a little darker providing great balance and vintage tones.
