Looking for new Dragon Boaters no experience needed

We have 2 dragon boat teams - Paddlers of the Fifth Moon (mixed) and Snappin' Dragons (womens) and need a few more people to fill rosters for each, particularly our womens team. Both teams are supportive, inclusive, competitively-minded rec crews and usually place among the top of the rec crews on Vancouver Island. We're looking for fit, strong, committed, hard working people that are not fond of drama and have the drive to push the team to its potential. We’re aiming for the 20-49 age range to avoid recruitment competition with the 50+ crews but the right fit will not be excluded based on age. Absolutely no experience is needed, we will teach you everything you need to know! Our coach has over 20 years of coaching experience and holds Level 2 Competitive Certification. She is also the head coach of the Canadian National Para Dragon Boat Team with experience in international competition. We train on both sides with a strong focus on technique and injury prevention and our paddlers have access to a wide variety of cross-training options if interested from outrigger canoe, small group fitness training to a free run group. Our fees are some of the lowest in Victoria and while we're currently tallying up costs for the incoming season, they're generally under $300 or so which generally covers practice time, festival entry for 3 races and team shirts. Our season starts Tues April 2 and will run until the Victoria festival Aug 10th. Snappin' Dragons practices 5:30-7pm (warm up 5:15pm); Fifth Moon practices 7-8:30pm (warm up 6:45pm) on Tues and Thurs at the Fairway Gorge Paddling Club. Festivals we will participate in are: Sprints (Victoria) - May 26; Nanaimo - Jul 13-14; Victoria Aug 10. There may be an option for additional races.
