Grey Gerbil Yume

I’m looking to re-home our sweet gerbil Yume. She is very special: she is one-eyed and solitary, and has spent too much time alone to be habituated with another gerbil. Because of this, she requires more human interaction and exercise than a regular gerbil and I do not have the time any more to ensure she lives her best life. She’s at least 1.5 years old but I am not certain of when she was born so she could be older. She could live another 6 months to 2 years. She craves attention and enjoys crawling up and down my arms and body. Her favourite activity is to run around a room exploring. It’s important that her new human have a room that can be closed off for her to get some safe exercise 2-3 times a week for 45-60 minutes. She needs daily interaction as well, 20-30 minutes would be ideal. She loves being softly stroked along her jaw and on top of her head, but only by the person she has bonded with. I am able to hold her in my hand and pet her calmly for extended periods of time. It’s really a lovely experience and will fill your heart with joy!! Her new human will need to put in the time to bond with her; but it will happen with time. Yume has a very cool “loft apartment” living quarters. The bottom is an aquarium which allows you to see all the tunnels and redecorating she does on the daily. It’s quite fascinating! I have a piece of driftwood for her “ladder” to the top, where her food and water is kept. I have some dry food available for her at all times, and every evening I give her some special nuts or seeds, and a tiny fresh salad of greens and fruit. She must stay with this living situation-because she is a single gerbil, she needs a lot space to keep her busy and occupied on the day to day. You can make her a bigger enclosure, but not any smaller. Yume deserves someone who is willing to help her have her best life. Send me a message if you think this special person is you.
