Pegasus - American Rabbit

Shelter: BC SPCA - Victoria Branch Animal ID: 529335 Birthdate: January 30, 2021 - Juvenile Spayed/Neutered: No Female Meet Pegasus! Pegasus is a rambunctious young bunny who recently came into care with her 3 siblings. This girl is very active and is searching for a home where he will be provided with plenty of space to exercise and lots of quality time socializing with her people. Pegasus can be shy at first meeting but her inquisitive nature allows her to quickly warm up to new friends. Pegasus is learning to enjoy pets on her head but finds getting picked up a bit too scary. Like most rabbits, Pegasus and her siblings enjoy chewing and digging. They would do best in a home where they are provided with varied toys and enrichment as proper outlets for these behaviours. Pegasus has previous experience living with dogs and could do well in a home with a rabbit-friendly dog. Pegasus is currently eating a diet of Oxbow Young Rabbit Food, unlimited timothy hay, alfalfa hay, and fresh greens. She should continue on this diet until she is 8 months old when she can transition to an adult rabbit diet. Pegasus and her siblings are still learning how to use the litterbox and will likely improve once they have been spayed and neutered. Rabbits need a large living space and are not suited to life in a cage or hutch. These young bunnies would do best housed in a pen style enclosure, which can be set up using a dog exercise pen, or given free run of a room of their own.
