Milk * Bonded To Thistle - American Rabbit

Due to an injury in her previous home, Milk's sister Thistle had to have her back left leg amputated. She is doing well adjusting to her new life as a tri-pod! Milk and Thistle are a very sweet pair and have quickly become staff favourites at the shelter. They both enjoy pets and spending time with their people. Milk and Thistle would be best suited to a home with a rabbit experienced guardian. Like most rabbits, Milk and Thistle enjoy chewing and digging. They would do best in a home where they are provided with varied toys and enrichment as proper outlets for these behaviours. Milk is currently eating a diet of Oxbow Young Rabbit Food, unlimited timothy hay, alfalfa hay, and fresh greens. She should continue on this diet until she is 8 months old when he can transition to an adult rabbit diet. Milk and Thistle have started to learn how to use a litter box and will continue to improve once settled in their forever home. Rabbits need a large living space and are not suited to life in a cage or hutch. These young bunnies would do best housed in a pen-style enclosure, which can be set up using a dog exercise pen, or given free run of a room of their own.
