Color Matcher

We are looking to fill a permanent position of Color Matching Specialist for our Woodcoatings Division, a division of Richelieu Hardware Ltd. based in Victoria. Position Overview: You will be responsible to handle all matters related to various types of coatings; including but not limited to stains, primers, pre-cat, post-cat, urethanes, and water-based products. More specifically, your main tasks will be to: * Custom Color Mixing proficiency * Provide color matches services for customers – meeting rush requirements * Maintain formula / recipe data base * Support sales force with technical expertise and product application * Strong wood finishing technical aptitude * Familiar with viscometer, gloss meter, light box, film thickness meter, etc. for testing coating products * Prepare samples * Ability to lift up to 50lbs * Responsible to maintain quality and safe work practices Requirements: * Strong knowledge of Woodcoatings Industry *Aptitude for matching colors * Good Color Vision * High level of self-motivation, self-direction, and self-discipline * Excellent written, verbal communication and strong inter-personal skills * Good organizational and time management skills This is an excellent growth opportunity offering a competitive pay and benefits.
