Simple, basic accomodation. Available Nov 1 to July 30 , 2023 ***. (Prefer someone who can take it for at least 3 months.) Rent is $895 mo plus small share of utilities. ***Possibility of an extension depending on our son's university schedule, but not available as ' Long Term or unfurnished accomodation '*** Located up on a hill in beautiful Saseenos, Sooke ( V9Z0E6). 15 mins drive to Langford, 20 -25 mins to Royal Roads University and approx 45 -60 minutes drive by car to Uvic and downtown Victoria. 5 minute uphill walk from the #61 bus stop. This is a really pretty area with harbour and mountain views and the famous Galloping Goose trail nearby. Easy bike commuting. Unit Description : This unit is located upstairs in our family home. It is a bachelor style "bedsitting" room , approx 280 sq feet. It is simple yet comfortable, and is pretty much its own 'self contained' space , with its own entrance upstairs off our shared upper deck. There is a fulI personal bathroom and small personal deck. There is no kitchen in the unit, but there is a small countertop area with sink, mini Fridge, microwave, mini air fryer, and kettle, suited to light meal prep -(sorry no hotplates or toaster ovens allowed inside the unit). You can share our kitchen and use our oven and stove, (with notice), if you want to cook larger meals. *Because of the limited cooking options, This unit is really best suited to someone ok with just making light meals or having mostly meals out*. Unit is tastefully Furnished with a double bed, dresser , bookcase , dishes, cutlery etc. Sorry no room for additional furnishings or any inside storage, but we do have some outside storage specifically for recreational gear , paddleboard, camping gear etc. Rent is $895 and includes ; Water and hydro up to $30 month ( monthly average if working away from home ) . Renter pays a % of additional utilities use over that amount. Hydro cost can be very reasonable if you are mostly out during the day attending school away from home and good with turning off heat and lights. (Hydro cost will be substantially higher if you are working from home as it's an older home to heat) . Not included in the rent , additional charges: Wifi : if you wish to access our shared house Wifi , $35 1 Parking Spot : Avail for a small car . $25 (No trucks, work vehicles etc. Guest parking on the street. ) Shared laundry on site for 1 small load per week or use the local Sooke laundromat. Suit Single , quiet , non smoking, non vaping 19 + occupant only. No pets, couples , or overnight visitors, firm , as this is a semi shared accomodation. Masks must be worn in shared areas during COVID. Applicant must be tidy, easy going, and young kid, friendly, as our multi generational family with a new baby lives adjacent. Please note , as this is an older home , there will be some 'sound transference' between floors , and you will hear us from time to time when we are home. So not ideal for shift workers, late sleepers, or those looking for 'pristine' quiet to work from home during the day. (Noise curfew hours are 11pm to 7 am .No use of sound bars or amplification systems .All media must be used with headphones or turned way down after 9 pm. .
