Family cottage in seaside Sointula for August

For rent in August, 2 week min, our family's 4 bedroom, 1.5 bath "mokki" (fish camp / cottage), located a few blocks from the ocean in the historic Finnish fishing village of Sointula, a short BC ferry ride from Port McNeil. Rent is $1500 for two weeks, $2500 for the month. Utilities and taxes included. Mobile data, linens, and cleaning not included. For data, we use our regular cellular mobile data as a hotspot, and there is good cell coverage in the village. For linens and cleaning, we recommend that you bring your own, pack in and pack out any trash and recyclables, and spend a few hours on your last day cleaning and returning to the condition you found it if you want to keep it affordable. Otherwise, we bill for cleaning at actual local cost (a normal cleaning is about $350, more if it's a real mess). Rental agreement and damage/cleaning deposit required. We are well-behaved pooch and kid friendly. Max. occupancy is 4 adults or 2 families with their minor kids, however many. No smoking, no parties or events. No TV. There is a video projector for movie nights. Lots and lots of books. Get those kids off those screens! :) Fabulous fishing, ocean kayaking, beach combing, long forest walks on crown land and logging roads, historic lighthouse, great sailing. Salmon fishing is scheduled to be open in August. Short inter-island ferry to Alert Bay and cultural heritage center. Bike down to the marina for burgers. If you're lucky you might catch the orca coming on shore to rub their bellies on the beach at Bere Point. Key pick up and drop off in person in Central Saanich only.
