I bought this chain because I was tired of renting gear to make a new album and had found my chain and didnt want to switch it up anyways. I used to be a music producer/artist with music on television with some nominations as an artist as well, so the quality of gear and sound was important to me. If you are a professional, this compressor/limiter paired with the Avantone CV12 Pro is a beautiful kit that would definitely help your skills shine but Im sure you dont need me to tell you that. If you are a hobbyist this is something you would have a lot of fun with and sound great while doing it. If you are up and coming or looking for something to help you impress people with a higher quality sound than cheaper pre amps and mics, than this would give you that label type sound you are searching for without a ton of effort and at a good discount to retail. I made about 50 songs with this Manley Core so its barely broken in. It was never taken off site to record anywhere else or racked up and moved about. This means minimal use, hardly any knobs have been turned as once I dialed my vocal in that was it. Ive heard a few instruments through it such as a guitar and flute, both sounded quite nice. Im not recording other people or working in the music industry any longer so I dont need it, it was a company purchase.
