Construction helper/labour - flexible hours

We are needing some casual help on a renovation project in Esquimalt. We can be very flexible to accommodate schedules, it could be 3-4 hours a day or just a couple of longer days a week, if you are semi-retired, in school, or juggling other work, as long as you can commit to 15 hours per week minimum. We expect to be finished by end of December but there are more projects coming early next year if it’s working out. All skill levels considered, but the more skill you have the more work we will have for you. You would be working with two experienced renovators who are happy to help you learn more skills. WORK - BASIC LABOUR: - light demolition - sanding wood and drywall - insulating - moving material, cleanup - landscaping work (dry weather only) - general helper for various trades - many other odds and ends ADDITIONAL WORK IF YOU HAVE APPROPRIATE SKILLS: - painting - drywalling - finish carpentry - paver installation MINIMUM ATTRIBUTES WANTED: - easy going personality, profanity reserved for when really needed! - able to remember instructions and follow through - able to use basic tools like screw gun, hand tools, measuring tape - safety aware - no smoking while on site - 100% sober until work day ends OPTIONAL (for higher pay): - able to use all power tools - finish carpentry - past experience in drywalling, painting, concrete, pavers COVID: - We do need you to be fully vaccinated as there is an older person on the property with health issues. Everyone else on site will also be. LOCATION: Esquimalt, near Saxe Point. Major bus route is 5 blocks away. $20-25 hr depending on your speed and skill level. We’ll start at 20 and talk about it after the first few days. Payment by etransfer weekly. You can start right away, or we can wait a little if needed.
