The Gardens at HCP is a public garden for learning in Saanich, BC. The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific (HCP) is a not-for-profit society focused on the provision of horticulture education and the development and maintenance of 103 acres of educational gardens and conservation lands. We are currently hiring a Volunteer Coordinator/Front Desk person. The Volunteer Coordinator/Front Desk position brings an enthusiastic, outgoing and friendly charisma to the Gardens. He/she plays a vital role in providing ongoing support for volunteers and representation on behalf of the volunteers. They have the ability to match the skills, experiences and expectations of volunteers to available positions. Job responsibilities include: - Develop and administer policies and procedures which guide the HCP’s volunteer programs and services; - Promote the HCP’s volunteer programs to the community to build awareness and recruit volunteers; - Identify HCP’s volunteer needs and develop effective volunteer recruitment plans and activities; - Monitor the effectiveness of the HCP’s volunteer programs including volunteer satisfaction; - Ensure volunteers are effectively oriented and trained in their duties at the HCP with a strong emphasis on volunteer safety; - Organize volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities; - Full details available on our website at: https://hcp.ca/ Requirements: - Experience in volunteering and recruitment - Working knowledge of databases, Google Suite, Microsoft office. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Excellent organization and team-building skills. A successful Volunteer Coordinator/Front Desk person should be meticulous about keeping records and passionate about volunteer work and people. You should uphold the values of our organization while ensuring the comfort of our volunteers in their positions. Start date and training to begin as soon as possible. Wage is TBD.
