Tsukino-Con is a non-profit, entirely volunteer run organisation that hosts an annual anime, games, and Japanese culture convention at the University of Victoria. The main goal and purpose of the convention is to create an enjoyable experience for attendees to celebrate Japanese animation and culture while also supporting various charities such as Child's Play Charity Hospitals, BC SPCA, and the Uvic Food Bank. The convention is currently seeking an Audio/Visual (A/V) Department Head staff member. Reporting to the Convention Chair and Vice-Chair, the successful candidate determines audio/visual needs of presentation rooms, creates rental requests for audio/visual equipment rental companies, coordinates setup/teardown of audio/visual equipment, develops schedules for a team of 6 to 10 volunteers, and receives and delegates audio/visual assistance requests to volunteers ("A/V/ Attendants") for resolution. The A/V head, at minimum, must have an understanding of audio/visual systems and equipment, basic computer/IT operation, and connection logic. Preference will be given to those who have experience with providing customer service, A/V and computer/IT equipment, material handling equipment and/or loading dock or warehouse experience, and project or request tracking and reporting experience.
