Hey everyone! My name is Nick Mintenko. I am a professional musician and teacher living in Victoria BC. I have performed around 2000 concerts in Canada, The USA, and Europe. I received my diploma in Jazz Studies from the Victoria Conservatory of Music in 2013. I have been teaching private music lessons since 2012, and I have also taught at Larsen Music (now defunct) from 2012-2016, South Island Studio from 2014-2016, and Westshore Music Academy (now defunct) from 2019-2021. I have recorded and been a part of recording four professional studio albums, and many singles and EP's! I have also recorded many other projects independently. Instruments I have recorded professionally include double bass, acoustic guitar, electric bass and electric guitar, background vocals, and lead vocals. I have also written over 25 songs that have been professionally recorded. I tailor each lesson program to the individual, based on what you would like to learn! Beginner Guitar - Songs, Chords, and Rhythm. Intermediate Guitar - Solos, Finger-picking, and New Chord Shapes. Beginner Electric Bass - Technique, Timing, and Common Patterns. Intermediate Electric Bass - Slapping, Soloing, and Complex Patterns. Beginner Double Bass - Technique, Intonation, Timing, and Common Patterns. Intermediate Double Bass - Bowing, and Soloing. Beginner Music Theory - Basic Scales and Chords, Key Signatures, and Reading music. Intermediate Music Theory - Modes and other Scales, Composition, Arranging, and Sight-reading. Beginner Singing - Singing In Tune, Ear Training, and Resonating Chambers. Songwriting - Lyrics, Theme, Counter Melody, Song Form, and Genre.
